Help plant the annual “peace” garden in honor of British Queen Victoria’s birthday at Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial, dedicated to the long-lasting peace between the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Downtown Retail Merchants and island home owners join together for one big sale on Saturday. Map with locations for garage sales will be distributed the day of the event. The National Park Service pays tribute to our nation’s service men and women with music, games and inspiring speakers on the back lawn of the Perry’s Victory Visitor Center at the 3rd annual Salute to the Troops on Saturday. Perry Memorial opens daily and offers kids programs daily at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Rangers give evening programs every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Musket firing demonstrations every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitor Center summer hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 10. A.m. to 5 p.m. April 20-May 24 and September 3-October 28.
